We had to find an "emergency" hotel in Clerval as our car had broken down and we were stranded. The staff at La Bonne Auberge were able to host us and our two boys for a night within 30 minutes. They greeted us at the door and helped with our bags. The rooms are fantastic; modern and funky with everything you need. The beds are comfortable and the shower and bath are lovely. The view from our room is also beautiful.
We were welcomed for dinner, which was first rate. My husband and I both had fish and the children enjoyed their sausage and french fries, which were delicious. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and had even thought of the small things; straws in the glasses for our children and no knives at their place settings. Really sweet.
The breakfast the next morning was fantastic. A buffet of fresh fruits, breads, yoghurt, juices and cheeses as well as children's options. Again, the staff were kind and helpful and we felt free to ask them all our questions.
If we ever come through this town again, we will definitely stay here! We felt welcomed as well as our children (which is great as our boys are energetic and noisy!!) We highly recommend it. The prices aren't too high and are well worth it!!

Very modern,clean rooms with comfortable beds. Breakfast was not large but good value.Pleasant hosts and a good supper. There is parking outside the hotel but it is not very private and on a main road although we were not disturbed by traffic noise.

We arrived dripping wet after a day of biking through the region and the hotel staff was just lovely. They even dried our jackets and gave us additional towels. Food was awesome an, for being Michelin rated, not too pricey. A must stay if you're spending the night closeby.

Rooms are big, modern designed.||I like very much the combination of colours. A bed is big and comfortable. A bathroom is well equipped with hair dryer and all necessary things. The towels are changed daily or by your needs.||All the recommendations.

We stayed here on a stopover during October. We (couple 50+) also had dinner at the restaurant.
Hotel location is at first glance nice on the banks of the river Doubs. Nothing much to the village. The hotel is located between a railway line (rooms out the back) and a road (rooms out the front). We had a room out the back and thanks to the quality of the french railway carriages it was ok. First train that was audible passed at 6:15.
Rooms are ok. Style is modern. There is only a curtain tbetween bedroom and bathroom. That is strange... Let your imagination run free...
Wifi Connection very complicated to get and had to sign in every time after the phone went off. There are better solutions.
Restaurant: simple menu, but very tasty food. Good wine list and very friendly service by the owners at check-in (him) and during the meal (her). We liked that.
Overall ok place to stay overnight. But at close to 200€ for dinner, bed & breakfast no bargain.
